Campervan Hire FAQ:

Pricing & Booking

​

    1.    How much does it cost?

           Prices vary depending booking length, season, and day of the week. For an instant quote, click the ‘BOOK NOW’ button. Seasons              are categorised into Low, Low-mid, Mid, and High. 

​

    2.    What is included in the price?

           The booking price includes insurance for renter, breakdown cover, fully equipped kitchen area, pull out kingsize bed, wireless                        countertop charger, tea, coffee, spices, shower and body products, cushions and throws and some other amenities click here

    3.    What is not included in the price?

           Items such as bedding, cleaning, extra miles and other extras are typically not included unless specified, please check out the add              ons when you go to book. 

​

    4.    What are the extras?

           bedding, towels, pet fee, camping chairs, kayak etc.

    

    5.    Is there a minimum booking period?

           There’s a 2-night minimum booking. 

           Discounts:

           7-13 nights → 5%

           14-20 nights → 10%

           21-27 nights → 15%

          And if you stay for 28+ nights there is an extended stay discount of 20%

    6.    Why do the dates I want not work?

           Availability may be limited due to existing bookings or minimum booking period requirements. Please reach out.

     7.   What are your cancellation policies?  

​​

           24-Hour Cooling-Off Period: Cancel within 24 hours of booking (if more than 30 days before the start date) for a full refund.  

           More Than 30 Days Before: The 20% deposit is non-refundable, but any remaining balance will be refunded.  

           Within 30 Days: No refunds—both deposit and balance are forfeited.  

           Final Balance: Due 30+ days before the rental start date.

Insurance & Security

​

    8.    Is insurance included?

           Yes, they come with specialist comprehensive insurance, usually covering drivers aged between 25 and 75 at no extra cost for UK                   licence holders. There is an additional cost to add another driver.

    9.    Who does the insurance cover?

           Drivers aged between 25 and 75, holding a UK, EU, Aus, Canada, Africa, USA, NS driver’s license for a minimum of 2 years, with no              more than 2 conviction totalling up to 6 points, and no more than 1 claim in the past 3 years. 

​​

    10.  What is the insurance excess, and can I reduce it?

           The standard insurance excess on all hires is £1,500. This means that in the event of an accident or damage, you would be liable to              pay up to £1,500 towards any damage. UK and EU residents have the option to take out an excess reimbursement policy through                our recommended third-party provider. This policy allows you to reclaim the £1,500 excess in the event of an incident, minus

           a £100 deduction.

 

    11. Is there a security deposit?

            Yes, prior to check in, we require a pre authorised security deposit of £500. This is a pending transaction and no funds will be                        taken unless the vehicle is returned not in the same condition due to damages, repair costs or losses. 

    

    12.  What if I crash or damage something?

           In the event of damage, the security deposit will be used to cover repair costs up to the excess amount.

    13.    Is breakdown cover included?

             Yes, breakdown cover is provided. Do not attempt to repair the vehicle. Call us immediately if this happens and we will organise                  roadside assistance for you. There is more information on this in our Booking Conditions.

Travel & Usage

​​​

    14.    Are there any restrictions on where I can take the camper?  

             Our campers must only be driven on mapped, public roads designed for vehicles. Off-roading is not permitted, including                              unpaved trails, rough terrain, or restricted areas such as protected/private areas. Always check local regulations before traveling.

​

    15.    Can I take it to a festival?

             Yes, there is an extra fee and you must make us aware.

​​

    16.    Can I take it to Europe?

             Yes for up to 90 days, breakdown and insurance for European travel are included in the standard booking cost. A Vehicle on Hire                  (VOH) certificate and European travel kit, costing £30, must be purchased as an extra add-on.

    17.    Is there an additional charge for EU travel?

             Yes, a £30 fee for the VOH certificate and European travel kit is required.

​

    18.    How many people can travel?

             2 Belted seats.

​

    19.    How long can I have the van?

             No maximum duration. Longer bookings, such as 1-3 months, are also possible.

​

    20.    Can you deliver the van to me?

             Pick up is from our yard in Edinburgh only, details will be shared after booking.

​

    21.    Is there a mileage limit?

             Yes, there is a mileage limit of 160 miles per day. 20 pence per mile – additional charge per mile in excess of the total allowance                  for the booked period.​​

​

    22.    Is there a fuel charge?

             Provided with a full tank and should be returned with a full tank. You will be charged otherwise. We ask that the fuel tank never                   drops below 1/4 as the diesel heater can break - we have an app that gives us realtime updates - you will be charged if you do so.

​

    23.    Do I need to stay in a campsite?

             While staying in campsites is common, some renters choose to wild camp where permitted.

 

Van Features & Equipment

​

    24.    Can I fit a child seat?

             Passenger seat suitable for child car seats or boosters; it is up to you to make sure it is legal.

​

    25.    Do you have beds suitable for babies/children?

             It is up to you to organise, the van has a kingsize bed only.

​

    26.    Do you have a hook-up?

             240V hook-up system for campsites & solar panels for topping up - can be used for around 3 days off-grid stationary. The vehicle                 will charge while driving. Heating and hot water to be on diesel while not hooked up and electric when hooked up. There will be a               fee if you let the battery fall below 30%. The heating and hot water must be set to the lowest mode while stationary and turned off               while driving.​

    27.   What cooking equipment is included? 

            The camper comes equipped with basic cooking essentials, including pots, pans, utensils, and an induction cooktop. Please                         do not use personal items without prior approval.

  

    28.    Is there a toilet, shower, fridge/freezer?

             Yes, these all are built-in.

​

    29. Is there Wi-Fi in the campers?  

          Yes, the camper is equipped with 5G mobile Wi-Fi, but coverage may be limited in rural or remote areas. We encourage guests to.             embrace the adventure and explore rather than staying online. However, the projector will still work, so you can enjoy movies.

​

    30.    Are any of the vans automatic?

            Yes, they are automatic.

 

Pets & Special Requests

​

    31.    Can I bring my dog

             Yes! One small to medium-sized well-behaved dog up to maximum of 20kg (44 lbs) and there is an additional cleaning fee for this                at £60. 

 

Policies & Responsibilities

​

    32.    What happens if I return late?

             Late returns can impact the next booking. Additional charges may apply, typically calculated per hour. Always inform us if you                      anticipate being late.

​

    33.    Can children travel in the van?

             Yes! Be sure to check safety features like seat belts and ISOFIX if needed.

​

    34.    Do I need to clean the campervan?

             Yes, the van should be returned in the same clean condition it was picked up in. If excessive cleaning is required, additional                          charges may apply.

​

    35.    What should I pack?

             Essentials include clothes for all weather, food, toiletries, and any extras not included in your booking.

​

    36.    Do the campervans have trackers fitted?

             Yes, trackers for security and speeding notifications, we use them mainly for safety and not for monitoring your trip in real time.

 

Additional Support

​

    37.    What documents do I need to bring when I collect?

             You will need:

 

    •      A valid driving licence

    •      Two recent proofs of address (e.g., utility bills or bank statements from the last 90 days)

    •      The security deposit (held via pre-authorisation on a credit or debit card)
